Congratulations to Dr. Myra Mendible, our third honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored by FGCU faculty and staff. Dr. Mendible, Ph.D., is Professor of English and Interdisciplinary Studies and co-founder of the FGCU English program. Dr. Mendible’s Race 2008: Critical Reflections on an Historic Campaign (2010) is featured on the Library homepage during the month of March and is displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the New Books Area. Dr. Mendible is also the author of several peer-reviewed articles, is the editor of From Bananas to Buttocks: The Latina Body in Popular Film and Culture (2007), and has contributed to Unspoiled: Writers Speak for Florida’s Coast (2010).

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected, presented by an accompanying poster, and featured on the Library’s website. Everyone is encouraged to view the display of our FGCU authors’ recent works. Any of the Author Series books in the Main Collection are available for check out. Authors are encouraged to donate a copy of their book(s) to the Library by contacting their subject specialist.
