Congratulations to Dr. Megan McShane, our 8th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored by FGCU faculty and staff! Co-authored by Dr. McShane,* 30 Millennia of Painting* (2011) **will be featured on the Library homepage during the month of October and will be displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the New Books Area.
One of two art historians at FGCU, Dr. McShane’s teaching includes work in the art and ecology movement in partnership with The Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education. Her design of the survey course of art history from the Renaissance to the present, ARH2051, advanced e-learning at FGCU and is now being used as a template for other courses. Dr. McShane has also published and taught widely in China, and recently spent a year there as the first Modern Art Historian to be officially accepted by the Republic and the Ministry of Education to propagate Avant-Garde art history and methodology.
Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected, presented by an accompanying poster, and featured on the Library’s website. Everyone is encouraged to view the display of our FGCU authors’ recent works. Any of the Author Series books in the Main Collection are available for check out. Authors are encouraged to donate a copy of their book(s) to the Library by contacting their subject specialist.
