April FGCU Author Series

Congratulations to Dr. Jim Wohlpart, our 14th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored by FGCU faculty and staff! Dr. Wohlpart’s book Walking in the Land of Many Gods: Remembering Sacred Reason in Contemporary Environmental Literature will be featured on the Library website during the month of April and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the New Books Area.

Dr. Wohlpart serves as the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at FGCU, overseeing several offices and programs including the Center for Academic Achievement, the Accelerated Collegiate Experience, the Honors Program, and more. He chairs the University Assessment Council and the Quality Enhancement Plan for 2015-2020. In addition to his many leadership activities on campus, Dr. Wohlpart is a Senior Scholar with the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education and a Professor of English, with a specialty in Environmental Literature. He co-edited the books A Voice for Earth: American Writers Respond to the Earth Charter (with Peter Blaze Corcoran; University of Georgia Press, 2008) and unspoiled: Writers Speak for Florida’s Coast (with Susan Cerulean and Janisse Ray; Red Hills Writers Project, 2010).

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected, presented by an accompanying poster, and featured on the Library’s website. Everyone is encouraged to view the display of our FGCU authors’ recent works. Any of the Author Series books in the General Collection are available for check out.
