Congratulations to Dr. Fiona Tolhurst, our 20th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored by FGCU faculty and staff! Dr. Tolhurst’s book Geoffrey of Monmouth and the Translation of Female Kingship will be featured on the Library website during the month of December and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.
Dr. Tolhurst is an Associate Professor of English at FGCU, specializing in medieval English literature. Her research focus is Arthurian literature and medieval women writers. She holds a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from Princeton University, and has taught at several European universities as well as Alfred University in New York. Geoffrey of Monmouth and the Translation of Female Kingship is her second book; she is also the author of Geoffrey of Monmouth and the Feminist Origins of the Arthurian Legend, and the editor of two essay collections. She is currently working on a co-authored book *Arthurian Doublings in the Middle English Tradition. *
Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected, presented by an accompanying poster, and featured on the Library’s website. Everyone is encouraged to view the display of our FGCU authors’ recent works. Any of the Author Series books in the General Collection are available for check out. Authors are encouraged to donate a copy of their book(s) to the Library by contacting their subject specialist.
