Dr. Laura Frost: January 2015 FGCU Author Series Honoree

Congratulations to Dr. Laura Frost, our 21st honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored by FGCU faculty and staff! Dr. Frost’s coauthored book General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry : Concise, Practical, Integrated will be featured on the Library website during the month of January and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.

Dr. Frost is a Professor of Chemistry in addition to being Director of the Whitaker Center for STEM Education at FGCU. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, and taught chemistry at Georgia Southern University prior to her arrival here. Her research interests include chemistry education and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). In 2007 she was recognized with an Award of Excellence in SoTL by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. In addition to General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry : Concise, Practical, Integrated, she is also the author of a workbook of guided-inquiry activities for the classroom.

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected, presented by an accompanying poster, and featured on the Library’s website. Everyone is encouraged to view the display of our FGCU authors’ recent works. Any of the Author Series books in the General Collection are available for check out. Authors are encouraged to donate a copy of their book(s) to the Library by contacting their subject specialist.
