Dr. David J. Thomas: Summer 2015 FGCU Authors Series Honoree

Congratulations to Dr. David J. Thomas, our 25th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored or edited by FGCU faculty and staff. Dr. Thomas’s book, Understanding Violent Criminals: Insights from the Front Lines of Law Enforcement, will be featured on the Library website during the summer months, May through July, and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.

Dr. Thomas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Justice Studies. Dr. Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology from The Union Institute. Prior to receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Thomas served as a police officer and retired from the Gainesville Police Department after 20 years of service. Dr. Thomas serves as editor for a book series in Forensic Psychology and has previously published textbooks on topics in policing and psychology. He also serves as an editor for several journals.

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected and placed on display with an accompanying poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area. The author and book are also featured on the Library’s website, news blog, and Facebook page. FGCU faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the relevant subject specialist librarian if they publish a book.
