Dr. Duane Dobbert : November 2015 Authors Series Honoree

Congratulations to Dr. Duane Dobbert, our 29th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored or edited by FGCU faculty and staff.  Dr, Dobbert’s book, Deviance: Theories on Behaviors that Defy Social Norms,will be featured on the Library website during the month of November and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.

Dr. Duane Dobbert is a Full Professor of Justice Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University. Dr. Dobbert is a 46 year veteran of the Criminal Justice profession; serving in clinical, administrative, research, and consulting capacities. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Examiners; Psychological Specialties, and a Department of Justice Expert Witness.

He is the author of the Praeger published books, "Halting the Sexual Predators Among Us, Understanding Personality Disorders, Psychopathy, Perversion, and Lust Homicide" and most recently "Deviance: Theories on Behaviors that Defy Social Norms." This book is of special significance to both Dr. Dobbert and the FGCU community, as it was a collaboration between Dr. Dobbert, adjunct FGCU professor Thomas Mackey, and 14 FGCU graduate student authors.

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected and placed on display with an accompanying poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area. The author and book are also featured on the Library’s website, news blog, and Facebook page. FGCU faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the relevant subject specialist librarian if they publish a book.
