William Cooney, Ph.D.: October 2016 FGCU Author Series Nominee

Congratulations to William Cooney, Ph.D., our 38th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored or edited by FGCU faculty and staff. Dr. Cooney’s book, The Wild Longing of the Human Heart, will be featured on the Library website during the month of October and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.

Dr. William Cooney is a professor of philosophy at Hodges University and an adjunct professor of philosophy at Florida Gulf Coast University. He is past recipient of Teacher of the Year (Burlington Northern Faculty Excellence Award: Briar Cliff University) and Distinguished Scholarship Awards (Briar Cliff University and Marquette University). His other books include Reflections on Gabriel Marcel, Ten Great Thinkers, From Plato to Piaget, and The Quest for Meaning. His articles appear in such professional journals as Dialogue, Journal for Applied Ethics, The Encyclopedia of Applied Ethics, and The Encyclopedia of Death and Dying.

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected and placed on display with an accompanying poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area. The author and book are also featured on the Library’s website, news blog, and Facebook page. FGCU faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the relevant subject specialist librarian if they publish a book.
