Jim Gustafson, M.Div., MFA: October 2018 FGCU Author Series Nominee

Congratulations to Jim Gustafson, M. Div., MFA, our 58th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored or edited by FGCU faculty and staff. Mr. Gustafson’s book of poems Friar Fred's Diary: Reflections of a Discontented Monk will be featured on the Library website during October 2018 and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.

Jim Gustafson holds a M. Div. from Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University in his home town of Evanston, Illinois and an MFA from the University of Tampa. He is the author of Take Fun Seriously (Limitless Press, 2008), Driving Home (Aldrich Press, 2013), and Unassisted Living, and Friar Fred’s Diary (Big Table Publishing, 2017). He teaches at Florida Gulf Coast University. Jim and his wife Connie live in Fort Myers, Florida where he reads, writes, and pulls weeds.

Each month a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected and placed on display with an accompanying poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area. The author and book are also featured on the Library’s news blog, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. FGCU faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the relevant subject specialist librarian if they publish a book.
